Are you a young woman with creative vision for yourself and your community?

Here at the Eileen Fisher Leadership Institute (EFLI), we have been working to create a space where young women in Westchester can come together to develop their leadership skills and passions. The Leadership Institute is all about developing ourselves and our goals as leaders in action through creative workshops, open forums, and exciting adventures. Sound like something you’d like to learn more about? Mission

Promote leadership in young women through self-empowerment, connection with others and activism in their communities.

    We encourage young women to:
  • find and proclaim their voice
  • cultivate personal philosophies of success
  • explore their passions
  • build connections with self, each other and the community
  • engage as agents of change in their world

Philosophy and Background

Eileen Fisher strongly believes in nurturing the personal growth of women through leading by example. Influenced by the Eileen Fisher Inc. core values of creativity, confidence and connection, EFLI is founded on four principles we call practices. These practices create an environment that nourish our passions and inspires our best work.

CALLING ALL YOUNG WOMEN

By acknowledging the power we have to effect change, high school girls are supported and empowered at a critical time of personal development where these leadership skills and cultural values are being formed.

Activating Leadership

Session 1: July 16-27 including weekend retreat July 21-22
Session 2: August 6-17 including weekend retreat August 11-12

  • First year participant – must be able to attend all 12 days
  • Entering grades 10-12 in Sept. 2012
  • Local to Westchester County (this program is not residential)

Activating Leadership provides the foundation for the Eileen Fisher Leadership Institute. This 12 day program is an exploration into leadership practices which includes: engaging classes, inspirational visits with local women leaders and skill based workshops. These elements encourage creative processing and reflection while building community. Concluding with the closing ceremony on the final Friday evening of the session draws together the skills and tools as the young women embark on their next steps.

Leading for Impact

3 week summer intensive: July 30-Aug 17 (excluding Saturdays and Sundays) beginning with retreat July 30-August 1

  • Second year participant – must have completed Activating Leadership
  • Local to Westchester County (this program is not residential)
  • Self directed, eager to learn, passionate about a topic or issue

Leading for Impact is the second step within the Eileen Fisher Leadership Institute. This month long intensive program builds upon the foundation provided during the first year of Activating Leadership. Participants partake in workshops for deeper inquiry, visits with local women leaders, and a ‘Deep Dive’ action project. ‘Deep Dive’ action projects provide the ability to take steps towards following a passion and impacting change in local communities. The projects will be chosen by the participants in retreat and completed in teams. The final closing ceremony is an opportunity for the teams to showcase their finished projects.
